The UCC Castle`s

Hi, this is the UCC, the other university of Cork. The University College of Cork is in city center. The campus is between two rivers and is very big. The UCC have about 15 buildings, but the most impressive building is a castle. I think that is very similar with the Harry Potter castle's. Regards.

The fifth week

Hi, I`m Ruben. We've been five weeks in Cork. The routine is the same, only now much more integrated in our work, and in the community. This week we have new roommates. Two French guys are also in the CIT. The last Saturday we was in Blarney. Blarney is situated at 8 km from Cork, this historic castle is most famous for its stone, which has the traditional power of conferrin eloquence on all who kiss it. The word Blarney was introduced into English language by Queen Elizabeth I and is described as pleasant talk, intended to deceive without offending. The stone is set in the wall below the battlements, and to kiss it, one has to lean backwards, also, in Blarney castle is the grounds of the castle the Rock Close and its surroundings is a curious place of ancient trees and far more ancient stones, by legeng a garden of druidic origin and a centre of worship in pre-Christian days. The place has a n aura of magic and mystique with Wishing Steps, Witch`s Kitchen, Druid`s Cave and many other delights such as Lake Walk, Waterfall, Fern Garden, Ice-House and Lime Kiln, all telling a story of turies past.

Welcome meeting at CIT

I am Sergio Banderas, the IES Campanillas EU Coordinator.

I´ve been for one week in Cork with Ruben and Alex. My tasks there were to help them with lots of things related with this great experience.

We first went to the Student's Residence Eden Hall, where they settled in nice rooms. After that, we went to take a quick look to Cork city centre, and get knowledge about buses timetables. For sure, we went to a typical Irish pub, where we could eat something and drink a cold beer.

On Monday the 11th April, we had a meeting at the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT ), an University in which we have the opportunity to colaborate thanks to our Erasmus University Charter. Here, Ana Cruz, a Spanish teacher who lives in Cork since many years is our contact person. She gave us a tour through the instalations and then we meet the two places where Alex and Ruben will work.
